It seems like I’ve been a mom forever. I believe it was my calling; out of all of the many adventures and roads I’ve taken in my life, being a mom to Aaron, James and Daniel has been my greatest passion. They are always on my mind and in my heart.
Creativity, music, and artistic expression are essential to my well-being. I’ve always got a project in the works; I love working with color, photography, fabrics, drawing, scrapbooking, building altars, writing, and so much more. Life in its most simple and pure form is what works best for me. The oceans, lakes, mountains, fresh air, and basic human and animal connections nurture me in a way that nothing else can. I am a Hospice volunteer in grief support, and actively involved in our community. I currently serve on the board of the Carousel Fund, a non-profit organization that helps families of children with life-threatening illnesses. As an Altar maker, I have easily gravitated toward our town’s annual El Dia de los Muertos celebration, coordinating the numerous altar placements in our downtown area each fall. My personal philosophy is this: Choose love, take the high road, have a sense of humor, and meet others where they’re at. It’s not all about me, it’s about all of us. |
